Senior Manager, Embedded Systems Software Engineering (Embedded Linux)

What you will do

• Lead and scale embedded software engineering teams, defining technical and execution strategy.
• Guide the design of new products, enhancements to existing products, and embedded software architecture processes.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers, firmware developers, and cross-functional teams on hardware-software integration.
• Define architecture, coding standards, and development best practices for embedded systems.
• Manage timelines, resources, deliverables, code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Ensure software reliability and compliance with relevant safety, security, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of embedded software development experience and at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong embedded Linux programming skills in C/C++, including kernel driver development and TCP/IP stack packet processing.
• Knowledge of NAT, TCP, UDP, IPv4, IPv6, HTTP, Netfilter, Conntrack, low-level drivers, BSP development, and real-time constraints.
• Experience with debugging tools, emulators, profiling techniques, Git, and CI/CD pipelines for embedded development.
• Strong problem-solving, strategic decision-making, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in networking, electronics, telecommunications, or large-scale embedded systems deployments.
• Experience hiring, developing, and managing software engineering teams.
• Knowledge of wireless communication protocols, including 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax.
