Staff Engineer (Cloud)

What you will do

• Lead the architecture and design of major features and complex, high-impact projects across multiple product domains.
• Create and review high-level and low-level design documents covering system architecture, data flows, API contracts, class design, and database schemas.
• Identify technical debt, define strategic technical roadmaps, and resolve complex production issues across distributed systems.
• Design and operate resilient, cost-optimized cloud infrastructure using AWS or GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines while writing high-performance, well-tested, maintainable production code.
• Conduct code and design reviews and mentor senior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of progressive software development experience, including delivery of large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong experience creating, presenting, and defending detailed HLD and LLD documentation.
• Hands-on proficiency with AWS or GCP and working knowledge of Kubernetes, including deployments, services, and cluster management fundamentals.
• Strong programming experience in Python, Go, Java, C#, or a similar language.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and Infrastructure as Code.
• Excellent communication skills and a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Cloud or Kubernetes certifications such as AWS, Google Professional Cloud Architect/Developer, or CKA.
• Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures using technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Previous Staff or Principal Engineer experience.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK.
