Piping Designer / Drafter - Fuel Recycling

Location: Santa Clara, California, or remote within the United States. Remote employees must travel to the Santa Clara headquarters twice per quarter based on business or team needs, and must work onsite there for the first two weeks of onboarding. Only applicants meeting the definition of a U.S. person under applicable export control laws may be eligible.

Salary: $80,000–$130,000 per year, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Develop, revise, and maintain Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or equivalent software.
• Produce piping layouts, equipment arrangement drawings, piping and equipment isometrics, general arrangements, and construction drawing packages.
• Coordinate drawings with process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls, structural, and nuclear engineering disciplines.
• Incorporate engineering changes into controlled drawing packages while maintaining revision history and configuration management.
• Perform drawing quality checks, identify clashes and missing information, and improve documentation before release.
• Prepare bills of materials, equipment lists, line lists, and documentation for procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and licensing.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree, technical certification, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent professional experience in drafting, design technology, mechanical engineering technology, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience producing engineering drawings for industrial facilities or process equipment.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or equivalent 2D drafting software and experience developing and maintaining P&IDs.
• Experience producing piping layouts, equipment arrangements, and construction drawing packages.
• Understanding of industrial piping systems, valves, instrumentation, process equipment, engineering standards, revision control, and document management.
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with SolidWorks, 3D CAD plant models, piping assemblies, or equipment layouts.
• Process plant design experience in nuclear, chemical, petrochemical, mining, pharmaceutical, or power generation industries.
• Familiarity with ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, ISA standards, PDM/PLM systems, HAZOPs, and constructability reviews.
• Experience with commercial or governmental nuclear projects and highly regulated industries.
