Facilities Security Officer

Location: Virginia, United States; hybrid workplace. Candidate must reside in Virginia.

Salary: $80,000–$130,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Administer the company Facility Clearance (FCL) program and related government reporting, documentation, inspections, and audits.
• Support Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence (FOCI) compliance, mitigation arrangements, filings, and transaction reviews.
• Manage the full lifecycle of employee security clearances, including applications, renewals, upgrades, transfers, onboarding, briefings, and terminations.
• Conduct internal audits, track corrective actions, maintain audit-ready evidence, and report incidents and compliance metrics.
• Develop security policies, procedures, training materials, orientations, and annual refresher programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience administering U.S. Government facility and personnel security clearance programs.
• Strong knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP), facility clearance requirements, and FOCI regulations.
• Experience with security compliance programs, audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting.
• Exceptional organization, attention to detail, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Must reside in Virginia and be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Previous Facility Security Officer experience in a cleared contractor environment.
• Experience supporting FOCI mitigation arrangements.
• Active or previously held U.S. Government security clearance.
• Experience supporting classified work for the Department of Defense or other U.S. Government agencies.
• Familiarity with facility and personnel clearance processing systems.
