Digital Forensic Analyst I (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid role based in Dallas or Austin, Texas, with remote forensic collection work, regular office presence, on-site collection travel, and occasional international travel.

Salary: $80,000–$120,000 per year

What you will do

• Perform forensic data collection and basic analysis across mobile devices, computers, servers, email systems, cloud sources, and social media.
• Coordinate project scope and collection activities with legal teams, client IT departments, project managers, and forensic team members.
• Maintain and update the forensic toolset, including evaluating new technologies and options.
• Develop, document, and refine forensic workflows and discovery procedures.
• Manage chain-of-custody practices, follow standard operating procedures, and perform quality checks before client delivery.
• Support complex, deadline-driven projects and provide general IT assistance as assigned.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree, preferably in Digital Forensic Science, Computer Science, or Engineering.
• At least one year of relevant experience with forensic scoping, evidence acquisition, the forensic lifecycle, and intermediate-level analysis.
• Experience with industry-standard tools such as EnCase, Cellebrite, Oxygen, FTK Imager, MacQuisition, X1 Social Discovery, and Logicube Falcon.
• Understanding of Mac and Windows filesystems, mobile devices, encryption, and forensically sound preservation methods.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, attention to detail, troubleshooting, and independent and collaborative working skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly on short notice and a valid passport for occasional international travel are required.

Nice to have

• Understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model and litigation-support applications such as Relativity, Concordance, Nuix, and LAW PreDiscovery.
• Industry certifications such as EnCE, CCE, CCFE, GCFE, GCFA, CCO, CCPA, or CCME.
• Experience with structured data analysis, custom scripting, report development, copy tools, PowerShell, Active Directory, SQL, VB, HTML, or Access.
