What you will do

• Write CNBC's flagship evening investing newsletter after each market close.
• Explain market movements, portfolio implications, and emerging opportunities and risks for retail investors.
• Connect earnings, economic data, monetary policy, politics, and global events into clear investing takeaways.
• Preview catalysts, earnings reports, economic releases, and market events for the next trading day.
• Produce original reporting by developing relationships with investors, strategists, economists, analysts, and corporate executives.
• Collaborate with editorial, television, digital video, social, product, and audience teams while using newsletter analytics to improve engagement.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience covering investing, financial markets, public companies, or the economy for a major news organization.
• Strong understanding of equity markets, investing principles, portfolio construction, and market sentiment.
• Experience writing newsletters or recurring editorial products with a distinctive voice.
• Excellent writing, editing, news judgment, and ability to explain complex financial and economic concepts clearly.
• Experience covering earnings, corporate news, economic data, Federal Reserve policy, and other market-moving events.
• Ability to synthesize newsroom reporting, meet daily deadlines, and collaborate across editorial and audience teams.
