Reporter, Venture Capital and Startups

Location: San Francisco, CA; hybrid role with office attendance required three days per week

Salary: $120,000–$200,000 USD annually, plus bonus and benefits

What you will do

• Break news about venture capital deals, funds, performance, and leadership changes.
• Write deeply reported profiles of investors, startup founders, and emerging industry trends.
• Develop authoritative coverage of the venture capital and startup beat and generate story ideas.
• Build and cultivate relationships with trusted sources.
• Contribute to editorial products such as the Next GP list, TI 50, and organizational charts.
• Collaborate with colleagues across three newsrooms, including on the Dealmaker franchise, conferences, and streaming video content.

Requirements

• At least two years of business reporting experience.
• Proven record of scoop-based reporting in business, technology, or politics.
• Ability to cultivate sources and develop a reporting beat.
• Familiarity with major technology and finance developments from the last three years.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Ability to work from hirify.global’s San Francisco office three days per week.
