TL;DR
Audio Broadcast Engineer (Broadcast Systems/Audio-over-IP): Supporting and maintaining studio audio systems, radio playout platforms, Audio-over-IP infrastructure, and connected broadcast operations with an accent on live-service reliability, fault diagnosis, and multi-site technical support. Focus on troubleshooting critical broadcast issues, maintaining resilient studio environments, supporting live events and outside broadcasts, and integrating software, networking, and hardware systems.

Location: The Lantern, London (Euston), United Kingdom; hybrid working with regular on-site presence and early/late shifts

What you will do

  • Diagnose and resolve studio and broadcast faults to minimise disruption to live services.
  • Support studio audio systems, including microphones, mixing consoles, routing, monitoring, processing, and talkback.
  • Maintain digital playout, automation, scheduling, logging, and Audio-over-IP platforms.
  • Support studio video systems, video-over-IP, streaming, content capture, outside broadcasts, festivals, and live events.
  • Provide responsive technical support to presenters, producers, journalists, and content teams.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, system health checks, documentation, resilience, continuity, and disaster recovery work.

Requirements

  • Experience in broadcast engineering, media technology, audio engineering, or a similar technical environment.
  • Strong understanding of audio signal flow, broadcast workflows, and radio playout or automation systems.
  • Experience with Audio-over-IP technologies such as Livewire, Dante, AES67, or Axia.
  • Basic TCP/IP networking knowledge and experience supporting software and hardware environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, fault-finding, communication, and stakeholder-support skills.
  • Ability to work regular on-site shifts in London and participate in an on-call rota approximately one week every four to five weeks.

Nice to have

  • Experience with RCS Zetta or similar playout platforms.
  • Experience with live radio, video production, video-over-IP, streaming, or outside broadcasts.
  • Knowledge of FM, DAB, or IP distribution systems.
  • Broadcast systems integration experience or experience in large-scale media organisations.
