Operations Technician (Broadcast Equipment)

Location: Salford, United Kingdom; occasional overnight travel to support events or cover the London and Glasgow offices may be required.

Salary: £25,100–£33,900 per year, depending on relevant skills, knowledge, and experience.

What you will do

• Arrange the hire and maintenance of self-operated broadcast equipment, including cameras, lighting, and sound equipment.
• Monitor and track equipment using the bespoke asset management system.
• Function-test and prepare equipment according to production requirements.
• Coordinate equipment movements through couriers and prepare shipping lists for carnets.
• Provide technical advice and recommendations to productions remotely and in person.

Requirements

• Experience using broadcast or production equipment, including cameras and sound-recording equipment.
• Detailed technical knowledge of audiovisual equipment used in programme making.
• Understanding of equipment management, supply, maintenance, storage, and accessories.
• Collaborative team-working skills and effective written and verbal communication.
• Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom is subject to employment screening checks.

Nice to have

• Understanding of programme making and the needs of production staff, particularly self-operated production.
• Experience working in an equipment-hire environment or with asset-management software.
• Customer-service experience and the ability to prioritise work to tight deadlines.
