Research Associate, Cancer Companion Diagnostics

Location: US-CA-Carpinteria; hybrid with at least 3 on-site days per week

Salary: $73,958–$115,560 per year, plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits.

hirify.global's Companion Diagnostics Business develops, manufactures, and commercializes in vitro diagnostic devices supporting precision medicine and targeted cancer therapies.

What you will do

• Support clinical-trial testing of targeted anti-cancer drugs by developing tailored companion diagnostic assays.
• Conduct research and development for immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, and molecular biology-based assays.
• Plan and execute experiments, perform quantitative data analysis, and interpret and report results.
• Support product development planning and lead development projects when applicable, coordinating with internal functions and suppliers.
• Perform technical design tasks, solve design problems, and recommend improvements for product performance.
• Write scientific protocols and reports while contributing to cross-functional collaboration and, where applicable, scientific conferences and journals.

Requirements

• BS/BA or MA in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• 2+ years of related laboratory experience.
• Experience with immunohistochemistry and microscopy.
• Ability to follow quality system regulations, including Design Control.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• Experience with in situ hybridization, fluorescent techniques, protein biochemistry, cell biology, or molecular biology.
• Background in tumor biology, immunology, or histology.
• Experience with assay or protocol development.
