Senior Developer (Java)

Location: Remote within the Spain time zone; participation in a mandatory rotating on-call schedule is required, with one seven-day rotation approximately every three to four months.

What you will do

• Contribute to a high-performing backend project in the banking industry.
• Develop and maintain Java and Spring Boot microservices.
• Work with Apache Kafka, databases, and software architecture patterns.
• Apply functional programming and TDD or BDD testing methodologies.
• Participate in Agile Scrum practices and collaborate on international projects.
• Join the rotating on-call system and resolve critical incidents when required.

Requirements

• At least four years of experience in a similar role.
• Advanced J2EE, Spring Boot, and Apache Kafka expertise.
• Strong knowledge of Java 8 or higher, microservices, JPA, software design, and architecture patterns.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, or similar databases.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, especially Scrum.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher and availability within the Spain time zone are required.

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of API design and specification with OpenAPI 3 or OAS3.
• Basic knowledge of reactive programming.
• Additional technical skills that can contribute to the project.
