Senior Software Development Engineer (Java/Kotlin)

What you will do

• Lead and shape an engineering team while remaining hands-on with backend development.
• Translate business and user needs into technical designs and scalable software solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services, data storage solutions, and microservice architectures.
• Analyze and resolve production and non-production issues with Product Management, Architecture, and Support teams.
• Improve system performance, reliability, observability, security, and operational stability.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to coding standards, clean code practices, automated testing, and SDLC improvements.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Kotlin or Java and the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Batch, or Spring Integration.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational database design.
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and Test Containers.
• Experience designing and operating microservice architectures.
• Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes.
• Experience with message-driven architectures and platforms such as Apache Kafka, Google Pub/Sub, or RabbitMQ.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with frontend technologies such as Vue for collaboration in full-stack contexts.
• Experience with Agile environments such as SAFe, Scrum, or Kanban.
• Exposure to SaaS products and production systems operating at scale.
• Experience in travel or airline technology, including hirify.global APIs, airline reservation systems, or revenue management systems.
