Location: Barcelona, Spain; hybrid home-office model
Company
operates a global travel subscription and e-commerce platform across five travel brands, serving millions of Prime members in multiple markets.
What you will do
- Drive the technical evolution of one or more backend microservices serving millions of daily transactions.
- Provide architectural guidance on coding, design, tools, performance, and maintainability to lead engineers and senior developers.
- Collaborate with approximately 30 developers across multiple teams, as well as business, product, and other architects.
- Help scope and phase product and business ideas and contribute technical solutions to team backlogs.
- Mentor lead and senior engineers in their technical development.
- Contribute to cross-team, company-level technical initiatives.
Requirements
- 8+ years of backend development experience with Java.
- Strong knowledge of software coding, design patterns, architecture, and performance engineering.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Assertive, constructive communication style with the ability to influence and challenge ideas positively.
- Experience designing microservices is advantageous.
Nice to have
- BS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience with other languages and platforms such as JavaScript, Groovy, or Swift.
- Experience with machine learning systems, large multilingual or multi-country e-commerce websites, or the travel sector.
- Practical experience with AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT and AI-enhanced problem solving.
