Software Engineer (Real-time Collaborative Platform – Full Stack)

Location: Singapore, Singapore; on-site. Only Singapore Citizens will be considered.

CSIT is an agency under Singapore’s Ministry of Defence developing digital solutions that support national security decision-making.

What you will do

• Implement real-time collaboration features such as multi-user editing, conflict resolution, and state synchronization across distributed systems.
• Develop interactive data storytelling capabilities, including dynamic charts, maps, visualisations, and data-driven content embedded in reports.
• Build scalable microservices and APIs with strong performance, reliability, and consistency under high-concurrency workloads.
• Participate in technical design discussions and apply system architecture and software engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with product, design, and end-users to turn complex data analysis into intuitive user experiences.
• Prototype AI-driven features for copyediting, proofreading, metadata tagging, cross-report reference validation, and agent-based workflows.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of software engineering experience and a background in Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
• Experience with full stack web technologies such as React, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MinIO.
• Backend or frontend development experience, such as Java/Spring Boot or React/TypeScript, with the ability to learn new languages and frameworks.
• Experience with relational databases, NoSQL databases, and object storage.
• Experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Git, Kubernetes, and deploying and operating cloud applications.
• Singapore citizenship is required for consideration.

Nice to have

• Experience with agile software development practices.
• Familiarity with LLM-powered features, agent-based workflows, or automation tools.
• Experience with WebSockets, Operational Transformation, or rich-text engine customisation.
• Familiarity with Vite, Nx, large-scale codebases, or monorepo development.
