Software Engineer - Agentic Platform (AI)

What you will do

• Build and evolve Propel, the agentic platform for maritime workflows.
• Develop the agent orchestration framework, developer SDK, contribution standards, and shared runtime.
• Design agent memory, context retrieval, autonomous decision boundaries, and human-in-the-loop interactions.
• Define and ship platform capabilities with clear technical boundaries, then evaluate their impact in production.
• Maintain platform reliability and remove friction for domain teams building workflows on top of it.
• Collaborate directly with vessel operators and engineers to understand needs and improve the platform.

Requirements

• Experience building, shipping, and maintaining software that real users or other engineers depend on.
• Ability to investigate intermittent and complex problems in live systems.
• Strong judgment around testing, abstraction, design changes, and maintainable engineering boundaries.
• Willingness to learn the maritime domain, the existing toolchain, and agentic technologies.
• Experience with some of the stack is helpful, including TypeScript, Node.js, REST, WebSockets, PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker, and Terraform, but prior experience with the full stack is not required.
• A degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is valued but not required; shipped software experience is equally relevant.
