Category Manager - Indirect Procurement

Location: Apeldoorn, Netherlands; office presence required 3–4 days per week. Ability to travel across the EU for plant and supplier visits.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end procurement for products, services, capital equipment, and site projects.
• Develop group-wide supplier strategies and preferred supplier lists for assigned categories.
• Build supplier partnerships, negotiate complex high-value contracts, and manage contract performance.
• Drive total-cost-of-ownership improvements, cost-down plans, innovation, and long-term supplier reliability.
• Define budgets, service-level agreements, milestones, sustainability criteria, and supplier performance KPIs.
• Partner with site procurement teams, finance, functional experts, and senior stakeholders across the Group.

Requirements

• 5+ years of procurement experience in marketing, HR, consultancy services, or engineering services.
• Experience in manufacturing and engineering environments is preferred.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing large contracts and complex suppliers.
• Confident communication, presentation, influencing, data analysis, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to collaborate across multicultural, multifunctional matrix teams.
• Close proximity to the BDR headquarters in Apeldoorn and availability to work in the office 3–4 days per week.
