Senior Backend Engineer

What you will do

• Lead the architecture and development of scalable, secure, and reliable backend systems.
• Design and implement APIs powering iOS applications and other client interfaces.
• Optimize service performance and scalability for a growing member base and increasing data volumes.
• Evaluate and integrate relevant backend technologies, cloud infrastructure, and development methodologies.
• Review teammates’ code and designs, providing feedback that supports engineering quality and team growth.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of backend architecture, API design, and database management.
• Ability to build robust systems that scale with a growing product and member base.
• Strong ownership, initiative, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
• Readiness to work collaboratively in an in-person environment in San Francisco.
• Interest in joining and shaping an early-stage founding engineering team.
