Staff Engineer Platform (AI)

Location: Paris or Lyon, France. Hybrid workplace with on-site and home-office work; onboarding includes the first week at the Paris office.

What you will do

• Define the 2–3 year technical vision and roadmap for the engineering platform across backend, frontend, infrastructure, and agentic capabilities.
• Design and build shared platform foundations, internal infrastructure, reusable components, tooling, and guardrails with Backend, Frontend, and SRE leads.
• Prototype, scale, and embed autonomous AI agents into the software development lifecycle, including merge-request reviews, code-quality automation, testing, and security fixes.
• Deliver the platform as a product through self-service developer tools, documentation, and adoption-focused workflows.
• Contribute hands-on production code, architecture reviews, coding standards, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Mentor engineers and align technical leaders around platform strategy and AI-agent adoption.

Requirements

• 15+ years of professional software engineering experience, including Staff or Principal-level work in high-scale platform environments.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin or Java, with experience across GCP, modern web frameworks such as Nuxt/VueJS, backend architecture, APIs, and data models.
• Experience building product-grade agentic workflows used in daily software development, rather than demos or proofs of concept.
• Ability to define technical strategy, manage ambiguity, connect engineering objectives with business priorities, and drive adoption from architecture through delivery.
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
