Category Manager (AU)

What you will do

• Develop and execute category strategies aligned with manufacturing demand, technology roadmaps, and supplier risk profiles.
• Identify supply risks, capacity constraints, and single-source exposure, and support build-versus-buy decisions.
• Lead supplier evaluation, selection, onboarding, and readiness validation with Engineering, Quality, and Operations.
• Own sourcing, negotiation, and contracting through contract award, balancing cost, delivery certainty, risk, scalability, and compliance.
• Manage supplier performance, resolve supply issues, drive corrective actions, and support continuous improvement.
• Enable early supplier engagement, innovation, design-for-manufacture, cost reduction, and rapid introduction of new components or services.

Requirements

• Experience in procurement or category management within manufacturing or regulated environments.
• Strong supplier negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working with technical or engineering-driven requirements.
• Background in defence, aerospace, electronics, or high-tech manufacturing.
• Experience with contract manufacturers or critical component suppliers.
• Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business.
