What you will do
- Lead coverage of technology, energy, general business, and careers and workplace trends for CNBC International.
- Manage, mentor, and provide editorial guidance and career development support to reporters.
- Edit breaking news and feature stories for accuracy, clarity, balance, relevance, and impact.
- Develop editorial plans, generate story ideas, build source networks, and support agenda-setting reporting.
- Use audience analytics, Pars.ly, and internal dashboards to optimize story performance and subscriber engagement.
- Curate and repackage journalism across the CNBC website, app, social platforms, mobile alerts, SEO headlines, and video formats while collaborating with TV, video, and digital teams.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of CNBC’s editorial and programming priorities, with strong interest in financial markets, economics, technology, and politics.
- Strong understanding of US and APAC companies, technology trends, energy, business news, and workplace and career trends.
- Proven ability to perform substantive edits, restructure stories, refine leads and angles, and ensure editorial balance under tight deadlines.
- Expertise in writing headlines, copy editing, proofreading, research, and concise writing.
- Strong multitasking, prioritization, communication, organization, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced newsroom.
- Flexibility to occasionally work different shifts, including very early mornings and weekends.
Nice to have
- Seven or more years of related experience, including two or more years of operational or people management experience.
- Experience editing breaking news and feature stories in a fast-paced newsroom.
- Experience updating websites, news editing, or hot-seating.
- Familiarity with content management systems.
- Experience at a leading business news organization or overseeing news coverage and editorial decisions.
