Head of People

Location: Must be based in or able to work onsite in San Francisco, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Salt Lake City, or London, UK

Salary: $160,000 – $230,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Own full-cycle recruiting across all functions, including sourcing and closing candidates.
• Develop and implement repeatable hiring playbooks for various roles and teams.
• Build and manage core people operations, including HRIS, payroll, onboarding, and compliance.
• Design compensation frameworks, leveling structures, and performance management processes.
• Shape company culture through systems and standards rather than superficial perks.
• Partner with leadership on headcount planning and organizational design.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building a people function from scratch at a high-growth startup.
• Strong sourcing skills with the ability to identify and engage competitive talent creatively.
• Hands-on experience with modern recruiting tools and ATS platforms like Ashby.
• Ability to balance strategic organizational health planning with tactical people operations.
• High ownership and a scrappy, builder mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience hiring enterprise or technical talent.
• Background in tech or SaaS sales.
• Familiarity with insurance or financial services.
