Robot Learning Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in South San Francisco, SF Bay Area; legal authorization to work in the United States required

hirify.global develops robotic systems that combine AI and attachments for common construction equipment to perform labor-intensive tasks, verification, and planning, initially for large-scale solar infrastructure.

What you will do

• Develop and deploy physical AI models for robotic manipulation and navigation in dynamic outdoor environments.
• Define technical approaches with a strong focus on real-world deployments.
• Research reinforcement learning, imitation learning, video-action models, and world models for robust generalization.
• Build pre-training and post-training approaches for large robotics models.
• Work with multimodal data from cameras, LIDAR, and tactile sensors.
• Develop real/simulated data pipelines, training infrastructure, and validation systems while collaborating across teams.

Requirements

• M.S. or Ph.D. in robotics, vision, computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience developing AI-driven robotics applications for manipulation or navigation.
• Extensive experience in computer vision, machine learning, reinforcement learning, or related AI fields.
• Experience with VLAs, deep reinforcement learning, imitation learning, diffusion, or world models.
• Extensive experience with Python and frameworks such as PyTorch.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.
