What you will do
- Design and prototype algorithms combining learning, prediction, and planning for real product challenges.
- Apply reinforcement learning, geometric reasoning, and optimization to long-horizon manipulation, sensor fusion, and decision-making under uncertainty.
- Translate open-ended problems into practical technical approaches that account for latency, reliability, and partial observability.
- Build and test algorithms in simulation and on real robots.
- Collaborate with product leads, software engineers, and roboticists to deploy new capabilities.
- Improve internal knowledge, tooling, and experimentation pipelines.
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent experience in machine learning, robotics, optimization, applied mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong foundations in probability, statistics, optimization, reinforcement learning, imitation learning, and foundation models.
- Ability to implement theoretical ideas as practical, testable code using Python and PyTorch or similar frameworks.
- Curiosity, initiative, and a hands-on approach to building and debugging real systems.
- Clear communication and effective collaboration across engineering and research disciplines.
Nice to have
- Experience with physics simulators, control stacks, or physical sensing modalities such as RGBD and force-torque sensors.
- Experience deploying machine learning in autonomous vehicles, logistics, or hardware-integrated systems.
- Open-source contributions to machine learning, reinforcement learning, or robotics libraries.
- Previous startup experience.
