Salary: $200,000–$400,000 base salary per year, plus equity

What you will do
- Design and implement state-of-the-art robot learning algorithms, including reinforcement learning, imitation learning, and diffusion methods, for complex manipulation tasks.
- Architect and scale multimodal foundation models, including vision-language-action models, and apply generative video architectures to world modeling and robot foresight.
- Own the research-to-production pipeline from task definition and data curation through large-scale training and real-time deployment on physical robots.
- Evaluate and iterate on models using an expanding robot fleet in dynamic customer environments.
- Collaborate across AI, hardware, and teleoperation teams to improve the intelligence-per-watt of robotic systems.
Requirements
- PhD preferred or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Robotics, with a significant publication record in top-tier conferences such as RSS, CoRL, ICRA, NeurIPS, CVPR, or ICLR.
- 5+ years of experience in AI and robotics research, including deploying deep learning models on physical robots.
- Hands-on experience with vision-language-action models, video generation, or large-scale transformer architectures.
- Strong Python and PyTorch or JAX skills, with familiarity with MuJoCo, Isaac, or Drake.
- Ability to write maintainable, production-ready research code that scales across GPU clusters.
- Strong understanding of classical robotics, including controls and state estimation.
Nice to have
- Experience at founding-stage startups or leading small, elite research teams.
- Experience profiling and optimizing foundation models for low-latency inference on edge devices.
