TL;DR
Cable Harness Manufacturer (IPC-620): Building, soldering, wiring, and testing cable assemblies and wire harnesses for autonomous ground systems with an accent on IPC-620 standards, technical drawings, and quality control. Focus on interpreting schematics, identifying wiring faults, and validating cable functionality and safety.

Location: On-site in Clarksburg, Maryland, United States. Occasional travel and night or weekend work may be required.

Salary: $25–$30 per hour.

What you will do

  • Assemble, solder, and wire cable assemblies according to IPC-620 standards.
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Perform quality-control checks and functional and safety testing.
  • Identify and resolve faulty wiring, incorrect components, and other assembly issues.
  • Follow established procedures while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven cable manufacturing or cable assembly experience with solid knowledge of IPC-620 standards.
  • IPC-620 E certification or willingness to obtain it.
  • Hands-on experience with soldering, crimping tools, multimeters, and cable assembly equipment.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics, maintain strong attention to detail, solve problems, and meet deadlines.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance may be required.

Nice to have

  • 3+ years of wiring harness building experience or equivalent training.
  • Experience with complex cable assemblies in aerospace, military, medical, or automotive industries.
  • Familiarity with cable testing and inspection tools.
  • Technical certification or training in electronics or cable assembly.
