Software Engineering Team Lead (Python/C++/React)

What you will do

• Supervise, mentor, and provide technical leadership to a small team of Application Software Engineers.
• Own software development schedules, resource loading, delivery priorities, and reporting to project and customer stakeholders.
• Architect complex areas of multiple software systems and develop modular, readable, robust software in Python, C++, TypeScript, JavaScript, and React.
• Participate in requirements analysis, systems design, agile development, code review, testing, integration, and verification.
• Present software designs to customer audiences and collaborate with software, engineering, project, and management teams.
• Maintain technical documentation, support manufacturing, contribute to risk and quality activities, and mentor engineers in development and debugging practices.

Requirements

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar discipline.
• Active Commonwealth Security clearance required.
• 7+ years of experience in a similar software engineering or technical leadership role.
• Experience architecting complex software with structured requirements and verification approaches.
• Hands-on experience with unit and integration testing, API design and development, and comprehensive documentation.
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams while following software development processes.

Nice to have

• Experience with source control, CI/CD, Agile, DevOps practices, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Understanding of UI/UX principles and lower-level C or C++ code.
• Experience with distributed, secure, or high-availability systems.
