Lead RF Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite. Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an export license under applicable U.S. export regulations.

Salary: $140,000–$180,000 per year, plus potential stock options and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead, recruit, mentor, and develop a team of RF manufacturing engineers.
• Own RF manufacturing across spacecraft products, including work instructions for circuit boards, antennas, filters, inspection, and acceptance testing.
• Build acceptance-test capability for RF circuit boards and passives, covering functional, performance, acceptance, and environmental testing.
• Support automated test systems by reviewing logs, troubleshooting failures, and making targeted software or configuration changes.
• Collaborate with design engineers on manufacturability reviews and optimize production rate, yield, cost, and hardware delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of RF manufacturing experience, preferably in a high-reliability environment.
• 3+ years of people-management experience with a strong record of mentoring and developing engineers.
• Deep understanding of RF manufacturing processes and materials.
• Experience testing RF PCBAs, antennas, filters, and other passives.
• Must be a U.S. Person or eligible to obtain an export license under ITAR, EAR, or other applicable U.S. regulations.

Nice to have

• RF manufacturing experience for space applications and environmental qualification testing for spaceflight electronics.
• Experience with X-ray or CT, AOI, flying probe, soldering, connectors, conformal coating, and electromechanical assemblies.
• Experience with automated test environments using Python or similar tools.
• Experience identifying whether failures originate in test systems or hardware under test.
• Experience driving hardware and test issues to root cause in fast-paced production environments.
