Engineer, Firmware (Optical Modules)

What you will do

• Develop embedded firmware for QSFP-DD, OSFP, CFP, and other optical modules.
• Build software tools for firmware debugging, validation, and laboratory testing.
• Support firmware verification, validation, troubleshooting, and RMA analysis of field issues.
• Maintain firmware code, documentation, version control, and upgrade management.
• Collaborate with hardware, optics, and test engineering teams to meet performance, reliability, and compliance requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of hands-on embedded firmware development experience.
• Strong C programming skills for MCUs and embedded systems.
• Experience with Git or a similar version control system and at least two environments such as SEGGER, IAR, Keil, CrossWorks, or GCC.
• Understanding of I²C, SPI, and MDIO communication interfaces.
• Experience using Python or C# to develop tools, GUIs, or test scripts; good English proficiency is required for technical specifications and documentation.

Nice to have

• Assembly language programming experience.
• Knowledge of circuit design, PCB layout, closed-loop control algorithms, RTOS, or multithreaded firmware architectures.
• Familiarity with CMIS, SFF-8636, CFP, QSFP, and OSFP specifications and protocols.
• Understanding of coherent and PAM4 optical modules.
