TL;DR
DFR Maintenance Technician (UAV/UAS): Building, testing, repairing, and maintaining DFR stations and advanced electromechanical equipment with an accent on product assembly, soldering, troubleshooting, and quality assurance. Focus on traveling to customer sites, resolving hardware and software issues, and maintaining life-saving drone response infrastructure.

Location: Seattle, WA; on-site with 50% travel to customer locations

Salary: $65,000–$95,000 annually, plus equity

What you will do

  • Assemble DFR stations using advanced electronics, electromechanical assemblies, harnesses, and sheet metal components.
  • Fabricate and assemble components from schematics, diagrams, and written instructions, including soldering, wire splicing, and cable installation.
  • Test products, troubleshoot issues, and ensure builds meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Document assembly processes, test results, repairs, and modifications.
  • Travel to customer sites to repair and maintain hirify.global hardware and software, including in varying weather conditions.
  • Work with first responders, customers, and internal stakeholders to resolve implementation and equipment issues.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or repair, particularly with complex electromechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to use work instructions, technical manuals, hand and power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Experience with on-site product repairs and external customer interaction.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and independent-working skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel 50% of the time.
  • Ability to lift up to 49 lbs and remain standing, sitting, or on foot for extended periods.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in avionics, electronics, or a related field, or extensive relevant experience.
  • Experience manufacturing UAV/UAS systems or infrastructure for commercial, industrial, or defense applications.
  • Experience with networking equipment, soldering, testing equipment, quality control, and technical documentation.
