Field Software Engineer (Robotics)

Location: On-site in South San Francisco / SF Bay Area, with regular travel to active construction sites within the US

An intelligent robotics and AI systems company building autonomous infrastructure solutions for construction sites, initially focused on large-scale solar.

What you will do

• Deploy and support the autonomy stack on robots at active construction sites.
• Perform field troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, then drive fixes into the production codebase.
• Tune and calibrate LiDAR, camera, and IMU sensing systems for different sites and terrain.
• Build and maintain remote monitoring, telemetry, and diagnostic tools.
• Coordinate hardware, software, and site operations teams while translating field feedback into engineering priorities.
• Document deployment procedures, operator training materials, and site hand-offs.

Requirements

• Degree in computer science, robotics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience deploying robotics or autonomous-systems software in real-world or field environments.
• Experience with ROS2 and the autonomy stack, including perception, planning, and control.
• Proficiency in Python and C++.
• Ability to troubleshoot on-site, perform root-cause analysis, and work under time pressure in unstructured environments.
• Legally authorized to work in the US and willing to travel regularly to outdoor job sites.
