Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote - US

Salary: $150,000–$250,000 base annually, with possible additional equity or bonus/commission compensation.

What you will do

• Architect and build scalable, reliable ML infrastructure and services for large-scale training, massive datasets, and diverse customer needs.
• Scale data processing and machine learning model development across a global platform.
• Optimize infrastructure for flexibility, cost efficiency, performance, security, and scalability.
• Own the platform lifecycle from inception and design through implementation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with data science, product, and operations teams to integrate ML capabilities into business-critical services.
• Lead and mentor engineers while solving complex infrastructure, storage, and data-access challenges.

Requirements

• Experience building and scaling cloud-based infrastructure and services in machine learning or data-heavy environments.
• Expert knowledge of distributed systems, cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices architecture.
• Deep experience building large-scale services with strong performance, reliability, and cost characteristics.
• Experience designing cost-effective solutions while balancing performance, security, and scalability.
• Solid understanding of machine learning concepts, including model training and validation.
• Strong leadership, collaboration, mentoring, problem-solving, and ambiguity-management skills in fast-paced environments.
