Design Director, Product Design

Location: United States; remote

Salary: $125,000–$155,000 annually, with regional pay ranges based on work location.

What you will do

• Lead complex digital product design initiatives from early strategy and product vision through delivery.
• Partner with stakeholders to define priorities, facilitate workshops, navigate ambiguity, and build alignment.
• Guide multidisciplinary teams of designers, strategists, researchers, producers, and engineers.
• Translate complex systems, workflows, and user needs into intuitive, scalable product experiences.
• Champion UX, interaction, visual design, accessibility, usability, and design craft.
• Mentor designers, present design rationale, and contribute to design systems, workflows, and best practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience designing digital products, platforms, or services, including several years leading complex product initiatives.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams in an agency, consultancy, or in-house product organization.
• Strong product thinking, UX strategy, systems thinking, interaction design, information architecture, and user-centered design expertise.
• Excellent facilitation, presentation, storytelling, stakeholder management, and client relationship skills.
• Experience collaborating with product managers, researchers, engineers, and other cross-functional partners.
• Proficiency with Figma, Miro, and other modern design and collaboration tools.

• Experience developing design systems and improving design quality, consistency, and efficiency.
