Staff Designer (AI)

Location: Remote

Salary: $123,339–$185,009 annual base pay, with potential equity and discretionary annual incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end UX for product areas from early concepts through interaction specifications and final quality assurance.
• Architect and implement a design system with component libraries, tokens, documentation, contribution models, and governance across mobile and web.
• Lead design for iOS and Android experiences covering vehicle connectivity, remote features, ownership tools, and customization.
• Partner with Marketing and Growth on acquisition, onboarding, activation, referral, loyalty, and community experiences.
• Explore and prototype AI-powered configuration, recommendations, service flows, and personalization features.
• Mentor designers, establish critique practices, communicate decisions to executives, and collaborate with Product, Software, Brand, and Data teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product design experience, including at least 3 years at staff or equivalent senior individual-contributor level.
• Portfolio demonstrating interaction design across iOS, Android, web, and complex multi-step flows.
• Proven experience building or significantly evolving design systems across component architecture, tokens, documentation, and governance.
• Hands-on experience with Figma, AI-assisted design workflows, and AI-powered product features.
• Deep knowledge of mobile platform conventions, connectivity edge cases, growth design, and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, HCI, UX Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Experience at a hardware/software company where physical and digital products intersect.
• Background in consumer electronics, mobility technology, or e-commerce.
• Master's degree in Interaction Design, HCI, or a related UX field.
• Experience scaling design systems across multiple product surfaces and engineering teams.
• Experience conducting or co-leading user research studies.
