Operations Test Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Partner with hardware and software development teams to define comprehensive end-to-end test plans and strategies.
• Design and implement test fixtures, jigs, automated test scripts, and testing tools for repeatable manual and automated testing.
• Execute functional, performance, endurance, environmental, and operational-readiness tests on robotic hardware, embedded systems, and control software.
• Lead integration testing across mechanical, electrical, firmware, and high-level control software subsystems.
• Manage defects, verify fixes, analyze test data, and prepare reports with failure analysis and deployment-readiness recommendations.
• Participate in design reviews, root-cause analysis, and post-mortems to improve product design and testing processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical field.
• 2+ years of experience in product testing, quality assurance, or validation, preferably in robotics, hardware, or industrial automation.
• Experience designing and documenting formal test plans, test cases, and procedures from high-level product specifications.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python or MATLAB for test automation and data analysis.
• Hands-on experience with hardware-in-the-loop or similar system-level testing, data acquisition, sensor validation, and instrumentation.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols such as EtherCAT, Modbus, or CAN.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with environmental testing standards covering shock, vibration, and thermal conditions.
• Experience with robotic operating systems or frameworks such as ROS.
• Experience with C++, Rust, SQL, statistical process control, defect tracking, or test management tools.
