Backend Developer (AI)

Location: Hybrid, must be able to work from the Milan HQ

Salary: €40,000 – €100,000

What you will do

• Design and build robust, scalable APIs and backend services using Python with Django or FastAPI.
• Own the backend architecture of core product features from data modeling to deployment.
• Optimize database performance across SQL, NoSQL, and Vector stores for AI-readiness.
• Develop backend services that integrate LLM and NLP capabilities into the product.
• Collaborate with frontend and product teams to maintain reliable API contracts.
• Uphold engineering standards through code reviews, testing, and CI/CD practices.

Requirements

• 3+ years of backend development experience with strong Python skills.
• Solid experience with Django or FastAPI in production environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure fundamentals.
• Strong understanding of Git workflows, API design, and software engineering principles.
• Proactive, ownership-driven mindset with the ability to propose and implement solutions.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid model at the Milan HQ.

Nice to have

• Experience or genuine interest in ML/NLP and LLM integrations.
• Familiarity with AI developer tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or OpenAI API.
• Experience with vector databases.
