Strategic Finance Leader

Location: Seattle, WA; on-site

Salary: $175K–$225K annually, plus equity.

hirify.global is a pre-revenue climate technology startup developing modular subsea geothermal power plants that convert ocean thermal resources into baseload power.

What you will do

• Build and own project-level financial models covering pricing, CAPEX, delivered cost of energy, capital stacks, debt sizing, and returns.
• Maintain cost-of-capital and per-MW/MWh pricing and CAPEX models using financing structures and market comparables.
• Support live negotiations with strategic customers, governments, industrial partners, lenders, and investors through pricing scenarios, term-sheet economics, and sensitivity analyses.
• Evaluate pipeline projects and maintain the company-wide source of truth for deal economics and commercial progress metrics.
• Model grants, loan guarantees, political-risk instruments, and other government or development-finance products within project capital stacks.
• Coordinate data rooms, transaction documentation, outside counsel, advisors, engineering consultants, and market-study providers.

Requirements

• Approximately 7 years of experience structuring and modeling capital for real projects or transactions.
• Demonstrated ability to build infrastructure-grade, auditable project finance models from a blank workbook, including revenue builds, PPA pricing, capital stacks, debt service, returns, scenarios, and sensitivities.
• Advanced Excel modeling skills and strong understanding of energy or infrastructure economics, offtake structures, levelized costs, and the impact of cost of capital on delivered energy costs.
• Experience with counterparty due diligence, investor and lender due diligence, transaction documentation, and live negotiation support.
• Clear writing and communication skills for term sheets, internal memoranda, executive and Board presentations, and counterparty-facing proposals.
• Ability to operate with ambiguity, incomplete data, and short timelines while managing legal, engineering, consulting, and commercial workstreams.

Nice to have

• Experience with first-of-a-kind or pre-bankable technology financing, infrastructure transactions outside the US, or energy sectors such as geothermal or oil and gas.
• Familiarity with development finance institutions, political-risk insurance, partial-risk guarantees, export credit facilities, tax-credit equity, private credit, and structured or asset-backed finance.
• Experience with PPAs, tolling structures, capacity contracts, colocation deals, or negotiations involving hyperscalers, data centers, utilities, industrials, or governments.
• Experience in high-urgency organizations with aggressive commercial and operational schedules.
