Sr. Software Engineer, Clinical Software (Python/AWS)

Location: Fremont, California, United States; hybrid schedule with onsite work on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Salary: $150,000–$175,000 per year, plus performance-based bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain LIMS and other software supporting laboratory operations.
• Build and optimize backend services and REST APIs using Python and/or Java.
• Implement solutions with relational and graph databases.
• Deploy and maintain services in the AWS cloud environment.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python or Java.
• Experience building and deploying applications on AWS.
• Experience with relational databases, REST APIs, version control, and CI/CD concepts.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex tasks.

Nice to have

• Experience with Flask or FastAPI.
• Familiarity with React, Angular, or Vue.
• Experience in life sciences, healthcare, or another regulated industry.
• Familiarity with Docker, graph databases, or NoSQL technologies.
