Quantum Integration Engineer (Quantum Computing)

Location: hirify.global Japan; fully remote. Travel to customer premises is required as needed, including on-site debugging, testing, calibration, deliveries, and commissioning.

What you will do

• Operate and maintain quantum computers across cloud, customer, and internal R&D environments.
• Plan and execute calibration and service activities, including customer deliveries and commissioning.
• Analyze system performance, identify deviations, and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
• Contribute to L2 incident resolution and technical support for customer systems.
• Act as the interface between production systems and R&D by providing structured technical feedback.
• Develop service documentation, procedures, and laboratory best practices.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in quantum physics, experimental physics, engineering, or a closely related field.
• Experience with complex experimental or high-tech systems, such as superconducting circuits, cryogenic setups, or RF systems.
• Strong understanding of quantum computer architecture, calibration, and system-level performance dependencies.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware and software integration issues and analyzing experimental data to identify root causes.
• Proficiency in Python or a similar programming language, plus structured technical documentation experience.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Japanese are required. Willingness and ability to travel to customer premises is required.

Nice to have

• PhD in a relevant field.
• Experience with superconducting quantum computing systems and cryogenic measurement setups.
• Experience operating quantum computers in cloud or production environments.
• Familiarity with incident management and experience supporting external research users or industrial customers.
