Senior Manager, Structures (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Lead and develop the Structures team through hiring, 1:1s, development plans, performance management, and capability building.
• Establish standards for structural analysis methods, documentation, configuration control, and technical reviews.
• Own structural substantiation and certification artifacts, including margins documentation, allowables, and compliance approaches.
• Build the composites knowledge base covering laminate design, analysis methods, allowables, design values, and manufacturing constraints.
• Coordinate structural interfaces with Loads & Dynamics, Flight Physics, and Manufacturing, including load application, FEM integration, CFD-to-FEM workflows, and design for manufacturability.
• Plan structural testing, manage building-block test programs, and correlate analysis predictions with test results across programs.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on aerospace structural engineering experience with composite and metallic structures.
• Functional management or discipline-lead experience with responsibility for hiring, development, and performance management.
• Extensive experience with composite laminate design, structural analysis, testing, and manufacturing processes such as autoclave, infusion, and OOA.
• Proficiency with structural FEA tools, with Nastran preferred, including GFEM or detailed model development and interrogation.
• Experience leading structural analysis for certification or classification programs, including structural margins, load factors, safety factors, and certification bases.
• Experience managing structural loads interfaces, FEM fidelity, test correlation, engineering standards, and team development in a matrix environment.
