Senior Structures Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, CA, United States; on-site. Travel to test sites, other offices, and partner locations may be required, up to 25%.

What you will do

• Lead project planning and deliver aerospace hardware on aggressive timelines.
• Turn high-level concepts into detailed designs, including final geometry, material selection, and design for manufacturability.
• Develop full-stack design-to-build-to-test processes covering factory layout, tooling, test flow, vehicle integration, and testing.
• Analyze build non-conformances and define corrective paths for low-rate prototype hardware.
• Transition complex aerospace assemblies from prototype to production while reducing process complexity and waste.
• Perform structural analysis, report structural margins, develop test procedures, and support production, test, and design teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing, or a related engineering field.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience with physical hardware.
• Experience designing, building, testing, and iterating hardware.
• Comfort with CAD, test equipment, and hand tools.
• Familiarity with machining, welding, forming, and GD&T fundamentals.
• Must satisfy U.S. export control requirements: be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.

Nice to have

• Experience designing and releasing flight hardware.
• Strong GD&T skills per ASME Y14.5.
• Familiarity with Siemens Teamcenter, NX, NX Nastran, and Ansys.
• Familiarity with AWS D17.1 and aerospace welding processes.
• Leadership, mentorship, production-line, or test-infrastructure experience.
