What you will do

  • Own the design and development of major aircraft structural modules, including wings and fuselage sections, from concept through production and flight testing.
  • Architect primary and secondary composite and metallic structures, including load paths, joints, materials, structural arrangements, and manufacturing approaches.
  • Work with structural analysts to develop efficient, manufacturable designs using first-principles engineering and FEA.
  • Lead trade studies balancing weight, performance, manufacturability, cost, schedule, and technical risk.
  • Coordinate structural configuration decisions across aerodynamics, propulsion, systems, manufacturing, and flight test.
  • Produce CAD models, drawings, and engineering documentation while supporting fabrication, assembly, ground testing, and flight testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience designing aircraft structures and owning significant flight hardware.
  • Experience taking structural designs from concept through release, manufacturing, and testing.
  • Strong knowledge of metallic and composite structural design, load paths, manufacturing methods, and joining techniques.
  • Expertise with Siemens NX or equivalent CAD software, plus structural sizing, hand calculations, and working knowledge of Femap/Nastran or similar FEA tools.
  • Sound engineering judgment, strong cross-disciplinary communication, and experience mentoring engineers as a hands-on technical contributor.
