Base salary: CAD $113,400–$162,000 annually for Intermediate, CAD $158,000–$207,000 annually for Senior, or CAD $200,400–$248,000 annually for Staff

What you will do

• Design, develop, and operate high-performance Android applications using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow, legacy Java interoperability, and AI development tools.
• Own the full lifecycle of mobile systems, including feature ideation, API design, instrumentation, CI/CD deployment, testing, monitoring, telemetry analysis, and A/B experiments.
• Modernize architecture by decomposing monoliths, building shared libraries and frameworks, improving modularization, and enabling reuse across Android, iOS, and Web.
• Evaluate Android platform capabilities, device types, form factors, and architectures, and lead their rollout.
• Build and extend the internal AI harness, including agents, automation frameworks, evaluation pipelines, and guardrails.
• Define observability and fault-tolerance standards, collaborate with product, design, backend, and data teams, and mentor developers.

Requirements

• Deep production experience building and operating consumer Android applications at significant scale, including ownership of an app with 1M+ monthly active users or comparable reach.
• Strong command of Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow, and Java interoperability in a large, long-lived codebase.
• Architect-level judgment with experience designing modular, maintainable systems and making performance, reliability, and scalability trade-offs.
• Daily, fluent use of AI coding tools in production, with responsibility for the correctness, architecture, and quality of AI-generated code.
• Hands-on ownership of mobile production reliability, including SLOs/SLIs, instrumentation, telemetry pipelines, on-call rotation, and incident triage.
• Technical leadership across teams, including setting direction, owning major systems or modules, mentoring senior engineers, and delivering measurable performance, reliability, or user-impact improvements.
