AI Researcher (AI)

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to San Francisco or New York (Hybrid: 3+ days/week in-office)

Salary: $150,000 – $250,000 per year

What you will do

• Identify entirely new classes of AI systems and system archetypes.
• Explore diverse architectures, modalities, and compositions to reshape enterprise work.
• Experiment with unconventional problem definitions and develop functional prototypes.
• Collaborate across disparate domains to reveal new categories of human-AI interaction.
• Build and test compound AI systems using models rather than training them from scratch.

Requirements

• Proven track record of research results (publications, public projects, or equivalent).
• Experience building across various paradigms such as retrieval pipelines, reasoning agents, and workflow graph systems.
• Expertise in compound AI systems, agentic collaboration, and techniques like ensembling, ReAct, or graph-of-thoughts.
• Strong programming and data analysis skills for rapid prototyping and experimentation.
• Daily usage of modern AI tools like ChatGPT, Cursor, and Perplexity.
• Bias towards showing results over theoretical discussion.
