Software Engineer (AI/ML)

What you will do

• Own the core research codebase behind model development, large training runs, and production deployment.
• Build infrastructure and agentic workflows that improve research efficiency and accelerate experimentation.
• Lead the transition from early-stage experimental code to scalable, maintainable, and production-ready engineering.
• Establish software engineering best practices for machine learning and mentor research scientists.
• Build and own CI, contract tests, and verification systems that protect research-engineering interfaces.
• Maintain documentation and collaborate across teams to turn research breakthroughs into production impact.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including meaningful work with ML or data-intensive backends, training pipelines, distributed inference, or feature infrastructure.
• Expert-level Python proficiency and deep familiarity with PyTorch.
• Strong software architecture skills, including modular design, clean interfaces, and maintainable codebases.
• Experience with ML research tooling and cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP, Weights & Biases, Datadog, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, and GitHub Actions.
• Experience developing solutions for robustness, quality assurance, and reliability in software or ML systems.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across research and engineering disciplines.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with MLOps, CI/CD for machine learning, and infrastructure as code such as Terraform.
• Experience in an early-stage startup environment.
• Background or strong interest in tabular data, data engineering, or enterprise data architecture.
• Experience with Rust, C++, or Go.
• Open-source contributions to machine learning libraries, frameworks, or tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a STEM field.
