Software Dev Engineer Machine Learning (AI)

Location: Onsite in Madrid, Spain; this is not a remote position.

hirify.global's Ring Video Streaming Quality team improves the end-to-end video and audio streaming experience across millions of smart home devices.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate scalable products and services using cloud-native architectures and microservices.
• Build resilient, fault-tolerant, and cost-effective distributed systems.
• Implement new machine learning model architectures and optimize training pipelines and on-device models.
• Analyze model performance metrics and contribute to real-time AI/ML inference on devices and in the cloud.
• Work with product managers, ML scientists, and senior engineers through design reviews and technical discussions.
• Participate in code reviews, CI/CD, monitoring, troubleshooting, production support, and on-call operations.

Requirements

• Experience with video and image processing, compression algorithms and standards, computer vision, and/or machine learning.
• Knowledge of cloud computing and cloud technologies.
• Programming experience with Python, Java, or C++.
• Currently enrolled in or graduated from a Bachelor's or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related STEM field.
• Expected graduation between October 2025 and September 2026, or graduation within the last 24 months.
• Experience with data structures, basic algorithm development, or object-oriented design principles.

Nice to have

• Technical internships or demonstrated project experience.
• Video embedding and on-device ML optimization for embedded or resource-constrained hardware.
• AI development tools, AWS, SQL or NoSQL databases, open-source contributions, version control, debugging, and troubleshooting complex systems.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, learning, and adaptation skills.
