TL;DR
Machine Learning Operations Architect (AI): Architecting model lifecycle governance and deployment infrastructure for adaptive neural systems in precision neurology with an accent on model versioning, validation evidence, and regulated medical-device design controls. Focus on building CI/CD promotion pipelines, implementing drift monitoring and retraining triggers, and governing safe post-deployment model updates through a PCCP-style framework.
Location: Barcelona, Spain; hybrid working modality
Company
develops graphene-based high-resolution neural systems for real-time precision neurology and brain-related disorder treatment.
What you will do
- Architect and own model lifecycle governance and deployment infrastructure.
- Design model versioning, lineage, and validation-evidence systems linking models to training data, risk management, and clinical evidence.
- Develop a PCCP-style change-control framework for permitted modifications, bounds, and automated re-validation of adaptive models.
- Configure CI/CD pipelines for training, validation, and promotion across Development, Testing, Acceptance, and Production tiers.
- Build model drift and performance monitoring with scheduled and drift-triggered retraining processes.
- Version and trace services and processes in alignment with medical-device design-control requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 4–5 years of hands-on MLOps engineering experience, including model registries, CI/CD for ML, Kubernetes, and workflow orchestration such as Argo.
- Strong industry architecture experience; academic or traineeship-only experience is not sufficient.
- Experience shipping ML in regulated or safety-critical environments, preferably medtech, and automating design-control processes such as IEC 62304, ISO 13485, DO-178C, or ISO 26262.
- Strong infrastructure-as-code skills and practical experience productionizing Python research code.
- Fluent English is required, as English is the company language.
Nice to have
- Experience with FDA Predetermined Change Control Plan guidance or adaptive-SaMD regulatory frameworks.
- Background in adaptive neurostimulation, closed-loop deep brain stimulation, or closed-loop diabetes management.
- Familiarity with FHIR, SNOMED CT, NWB/BIDS, ISO 14155, MDR, or ICH E9 evidence frameworks.
Culture & Benefits
- Collaborative environment focused on open communication, knowledge sharing, inclusion, and mutual respect.
- Opportunity to work on projects with a positive impact on healthcare and society.
- Exposure to cutting-edge technologies and support for continuous professional learning.
- Internal flexible compensation scheme and private health insurance.
- Training bonus, Udemy access, 23 vacation days per year, and Christmas week off.
