Robot Software Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Build and maintain networking and communication infrastructure connecting onboard robot systems with each other, cloud services, teleoperation, and monitoring systems.
• Own sensor, telemetry, and behavioral data collection pipelines and reliable uploads to cloud storage for model training.
• Develop telemetry, observability, deployment, logging, debugging, and field-testing tools for robot software development.
• Integrate perception pipelines, onboard models, and control systems into a reliable robot software stack.
• Support hardware bring-up and field testing, debugging issues from drivers through application behavior on live robots.
• Collaborate with ML, perception, and control engineers on data quality and deployment reliability.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in robotics software engineering, embedded systems, or a related field.
• Strong software engineering skills in C++, Python, or Rust.
• Experience with networking, IPC, and hardware-software communication protocols such as gRPC, DDS, MQTT, or WebSockets.
• Familiarity with cloud storage and data upload pipelines, including AWS, GCP, S3, or GCS.
• Experience with ROS, ROS2, or similar robotics middleware.
• Ability to debug full-stack issues and work directly with physical hardware in fast-moving environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with telemetry and observability for embedded or edge platforms.
• Familiarity with perception pipelines, control systems, streaming, or low-latency data transport.
• Experience with OTA updates, robot fleet deployment infrastructure, or learned perception and control models.
• Background in prototype or pre-production hardware programs.
