Head of Financial Planning and Analysis (Fintech)

Location: London, England, United Kingdom; hybrid work with a mix of remote and office work and occasional attendance at the London office.

What you will do

• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, reforecasting, and multi-year planning cycles.
• Build and maintain transparent end-to-end financial models covering P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
• Develop driver-based forecasts for net interest income, cost of funds, credit performance, operating costs, and customer growth.
• Produce management information, variance commentary, scenario analysis, and sensitivity models for senior leadership, investors, the Board, and committees.
• Partner with Treasury, Risk, Product, Operations, and business owners on assumptions, accountability, capital, liquidity, and balance sheet planning.
• Build FP&A processes, tools, templates, controls, and audit-ready documentation for a regulated challenger bank.

Requirements

• Independently build, run, and maintain structured, controlled, and transparent financial models.
• Deliver banking-focused forecasting, budgeting, reforecasting, and multi-year planning using driver-based methodologies.
• Advanced Excel and strong Google Sheets skills, including complex modelling, scenario analysis, and model governance.
• Use VBA and Python to automate analysis, improve data integrity, and build scalable forecasting and reporting workflows.
• Strong understanding of banking financial drivers, capital, prudential concepts, and their impact on planning.
• Degree-level education or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related field, plus a required professional accounting qualification such as CIMA, ACA, or ACCA.

• Experience in a challenger bank, fintech, or high-growth financial services environment.
