Software Engineering - Senior Engineer (QA Automation)

Location: Reston, VA; position based in Ashburn, VA. Unrestricted right to work in the US required. Domestic and international travel required up to 10% of the time.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end functional and non-functional QA for cloud-native enterprise applications deployed on AWS.
• Design, develop, and maintain test automation and performance testing frameworks for UI, API, database, integration, and E2E testing.
• Execute performance, load, stability, and scalability tests for microservices and cloud infrastructure.
• Identify bottlenecks in multi-API applications and recommend tuning and scaling configurations.
• Develop quality metrics dashboards and present test results to stakeholders and executive leaders.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers while coordinating with Product Management, Development, Architecture, Analytics, Platform, and QA teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Eight years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in Software Engineering, QA, or a related position, including four years in automation architecture and framework design.
• Strong performance testing experience for complex cloud-based services, including troubleshooting, tuning, and scaling.
• Experience with Java, Groovy, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, HTML, CSS, SCSS, and Shell scripting.
• Experience with Cypress, Playwright, Jest, Vitest, Selenium, Cucumber, TestNG, Rest-assured, Pact, WebdriverIO, Git, Jenkins, Maven, databases, Kafka, and observability tools.
• Experience with AWS EKS, Lambda, S3, Athena, DynamoDB, OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes, Unix/Linux, and CI/CD implementation.

Nice to have

• Experience testing enterprise fraud detection solutions and applications.
• Familiarity with internationalization and localization testing.
• Experience leading engineering process, tooling, and technology adoption across organizations.
