Senior Test Operator (Aerospace)

hirify.global develops propulsion platforms based on Rotating Detonation Rocket Engines and Venus Detonation Ramjets for space, defense, and commercial high-speed flight.

What you will do

• Coordinate and execute propulsion hot-fire, structural, vibration, and thermal test campaigns.
• Operate and monitor test stands, propulsion hardware, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
• Lead test procedures and ensure compliance with engineering requirements and safety standards.
• Author, review, and refine test procedures while analyzing test data for accuracy and performance.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation issues with technicians and support test stand setup, maintenance, upgrades, and breakdown.
• Mentor operations staff, standardize SOPs, and lead specialized test projects independently.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a hardware testing environment.
• Hands-on knowledge of valves, pneumatic actuators and solenoids, limit switches, relief valves, pressure transducers, thermocouples, pressure vessels, GUIs or HMIs, and data acquisition systems.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, attention-to-detail, and communication skills, including communication while operating consoles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software.
• Ability to work outdoors as needed, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform extended desk or computer work.
• Must meet applicable U.S. ITAR requirements, including being a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required authorizations.

Nice to have

• Mechanical and fluid system design experience.
• Electrical or mechanical fabrication experience.
• Experience with pressurized gases and liquids up to 6000 psia.
• Experience with NI hardware such as PXIe, cRIO, or cDAQ.
• Experience designing or commissioning test facilities, using Git repositories or JSON files, or working in an aerospace test environment.
